Honing My Hunter Gatherer Instincts At Woolworths

I listen to the sharp buzz of fluorescent lights

Absorb the terrain of shelves

Dodge the bodies

Slip the sustenance

Into my pockets

Under my tits

Deep in my woven bag

They say the animals were out of the city

Four days before the tsunami hit

And all the people wandering around

Were wondering why they felt so anxious

I tune deep into my nervous system

Feeling my lizard brain

Seeing all possible outcomes of each moment

Finding the optimal path

For each step

Reading energy like

Birds following magnetic fields around the earth

I escape back out into the night

Heavy with stolen charcuterie
